Colon Cancer

Colon Cancer

When colon cancer becomes serious, the doctor might recommend operation. There are two types operation

1.Tradional method

Here the surgeon will cut the skin about 10-15cm to get the spot of the infected area so that he can offer a solution to fix the colon that has been affected. With traditional methods, you might spend a week or more in the hospital for intestinal surgery, and your total recovery might take 4 to 8 weeks.

2.Laparoscopy

Detection of Tumor Cells in Lymph Nodes of Colon Cancer Patients Using Real-Time Quantitative Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction

Laparoscopy is a type of surgical procedure that allows a surgeon to access the inside of the abdomen (tummy) and pelvis without having to make large incisions in the skin.

The process takes its name from the laparoscope, a slender tool that has a tiny video camera and light on the end. When a surgeon inserts it through a small cut and into your body, they can look at a video monitor and see what’s happening inside you. Without those tools, they’d have to make a much larger opening. Due to the high cost of treating this disease, someone who could not afford the cost may use health insurance policy to cover the cost from the insurance company. So long the insurance covers the cost of the surgery

In laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon makes several small cuts. Usually, each one is no more than a half-inch long. (That’s why it’s sometimes called keyhole surgery.) They insert a tube through each opening, and the camera and surgical instruments go through those. Then the surgeon does the operation.
